Stick 183 - Water Glue
Water Glue
Silver hue in the water threads
of the woven mass of my female life's underswirls
where the path leads to a balloon of floating water sticks
that lie in wait on the surface of my hidden mirror lake
Blue hue in the altantis of my mind
as the submerged ancient graffitti
show me where to stake my next foothold
as the water wrinkles and waves around my mirror mould
Brown hue glow in the sunset over the threading water below
through miriads of drop moments
where the blue sky carresses and with force
makes love to my below-water yearning as it mixes
the above, below, fast and vast and so deliciously slow
Stick 182 - You knew
You Knew
I knew who you were
I knew you stood tall
I knew you were silent
because you knew what life and love was all about
I knew your eyes smile-twinkled
I knew you noticed every moment's everything
I knew you stored no judgement
because you knew what life and love was all about
I knew you hurt on the inside
I knew you bled human tears of fear
I knew you still walked forward
because you knew that life was all about living love
stick 181 - Tossing and Turning
Tossing and Turning
and then the worry started
in an uncanny and unsettling way
it clouded all the judgements
as it clamoured to bully a mindset mainstay
and then the sleep became harder
in an avoiding bedtime way
it obsessed and distressed me
as it occupied my nighttime sleep with glee in delay
and then i stood on the edge of a cliff
the cold air swirled up in a hazy gravity game
and in a certainty of a specific moment of absolute surety
all the tossing and turning came to an incredibly freeing sure relieving end

Stick 180 - Too Soon
Dedicated to Barbara Ryan
- Passed away today
Your waka now on the after sea
Your smile now a flax wave on the ocean breeze
Your silent calm strength in the black palm tree
Your humble living as healing as the Puriri berry tree
Your sharp humour hopping pebbles on the mirror of the green lake
Your soft voice humming as you join me over a cup of tea
Your pride in your photos as your eyes speak of moments past
Your love for your children ever and always vast
Your goodbye too soon my dearest loving friend
Your soft smell with me forever till I join your open arms again
Stick 179 - Fingertip Touch
fingertip touch
light as a feather
unexpected in its effect
the touch of our fingertips
restraint electric
up to now
up to this
up to where we go from here
from this knowing special moment
captured delight from this feathery fingertip touch

Stick 178 - Reflection Storm
Reflection Storm
In the year of the summer of that unbelievably hot year
a man of undeniable charm did on my horizon appear
I believe it was close to dusk that balmy night
when this man suggested we fly a together summer kite
We flew it high, we flew it past the midnight sky
we flew it and never ever did we deny more rope for it to higher fly
I believe it was a moment just like this
when a summer thunderstorm broke out in a steamy mist
I cannot say exactly when or how or why
but the kite rope broke during a frightening lightining stroke
In the year of the end of the hottest hot summer weather
my thunder tears became icicle fears as our kite flying seized forever

Stick 177 - Run Away Stay
Run Away Stay
Have you felt that urge
when the wind curls around the curves
Have you felt that desire
to embrace only that which can inspire
Have you felt that yearn
to drink from the eternal living urn
Have you felt that magic
to turn your back on everything static
Have you felt that pulse
to embrace the promise of new never false
Have you felt the beat
of the run away stay in your always wandering feet
Stick 176 - Naive Belief
Naive Belief
We talked all the time
We discussed so much
We told each other
the all of the everything from beginning of time
We dissected the happenings
We postulated solutions to the non-happenings
We smiled in unison as we totally solved mysteries
of the all of the everything from beginning of time
Then you labelled me one day
As you looked up in disbelief
in the middle of a tantilizing talk
on something about what I cannot now recall
You stated emphatically
You stated with an all knowing disappointment
that you believe I was naive
in my belief of the world and the all of the everything within
Many years on, after the end of us, my blissful naivety intact
The wall did come down, the war stopped, apartheid had gone
and my belief in the beauty and good still hold true
in the all of the everything from beginning of time

Stick 175 - Build me a Den
Build me a Den
Build me a den
in the highest tree
where the forest stores no leafy debris
Build it with no door
so those who make it up the tree
have access to this life and my love for free
Build it with a wraparound porch
so we can sleep in the south of the west
so we can dream in the north of the east
Build it with a rainbow bridging the gaps
so halos of light
can mirror my solitude delight
Stick 174 - Between the Cracks
Between The Cracks
In grandpa's old shed
on the hay smelling loft
climbing the wooden ladder stairs
the wood and the hay welcome my afternoon stay
With grandma's chocolate milk flask
back against the wooden wall
the cracks in the wooden roof
my window to the elsewhere world
With the jackal's cry in my ear
the blue sky and sunbeam butterfly
erase the unknowingness fear
of the life in the loft with the cracks that appear and are here
With the eagle's call far and ever near
the thunderclouds build
as I shuffle hay from its neat and tidy bale
I make the bed below the cracks and look up with my childlike face
to greet the wind and its gale with the strength of young female grace

Stick 173 - Musings in Music
Musings in Music
Did you hear the exciting music
in the crisp blue-green lake
in the storm water wake
in the thunderstorm break
Did you hear the lovers music
in the pebbles on the stony beach
in the sunsets as the water spray over the saling boat-bow
in the call of the birds as they fly blue-sky high
Did you hear the question music
in the dry river bed
in the red dust that swirl in a wind twirl
in the sun rimples that mesmerize the straight boiling road
Did you hear the stillness music
in the hunched over old tree
in the bright new baby leaves
in the white roots of the mostly despised weeds
Did you hear the forgiveness music
in the forest undergrowth
in the silver of the fantasy fern
in the magic as the new futures now unfurl

Stick 172 - The Middle Hole
The Middle Hole
In the middle of the earth
in the middle of the southern african land
is a large, long-ago hole
the size of my aching soul
In the middle of the dust
in the middle of the redness
is an unanswered question
the prize of a curious life obsession
In the middle of the obsession
in the middle of the you
is a bright twinkling diamond
the size of falling in love ever true
In the middle of the earth
in the middle of the southern african land
is a large, long-ago hole
the size of my aching soul
In the middle of the dust
in the middle of the redness
is an unanswered question
the prize of a curious life obsession
In the middle of the obsession
in the middle of the you
is a bright twinkling diamond
the size of falling in love ever true

Stick 171 - The Sticker
The Sticker
Did you see the sticker
the one that said:
HANDLE WITH CARE
BE CAREFUL AND BEWARE
It was really there from the very start
a visible red alert warning sign
spray painted on the graffitti wall
next to my dark red female beating heart
It was a sticker that did not match
in it's darker nature
the lighter joy and sparkling water
you burbled through my life stream that very first when-we-met day
It was a sticker that afterwards
seemed too late
initially outright discarded and ignored
and afterwards at the waterfall hurt's very core
Do you now see my new sticker
the one that says:
LIVE LIFE if you DARE
LOVE ALWAYS & GIVE WITH EVERY MINUTE YOU HAVE TO SPARE

Stick 170 - Moon of Old
The Moon of Old
You wanted me sold
my soul turned stone cold
You willed others to borrow me
the moon turned my blood to ice thrice
You watched as others became my friends
the slither moonbeams sprinkled peppered screams
You waited while I waited and never said a thing
the moon became a dark moon and I lay alone in a spoon
You withered your love and coated it in wind storms
the moon was now real old and my price of loss became tenfold
You wanted me sold
my soul turned stone cold
You willed others to borrow me
the moon turned my blood to ice thrice
You watched as others became my friends
the slither moonbeams sprinkled peppered screams
You waited while I waited and never said a thing
the moon became a dark moon and I lay alone in a spoon
You withered your love and coated it in wind storms
the moon was now real old and my price of loss became tenfold
Stick 169 - Stick Letter
Stick Letter
Did you get the letter?
the one I wrote in my sleep
the one I dreamt was delivered
with my soul in my hand
and my heart on my hip
Did you get my letter?
the one where I wrote:
Are you Happy?
Are you Breathing?
Are you ever after Believing?
Did you get my letter?
because if you did
I wish you would stop for a moment to think
I wish you would focus on the life that may be lost in a blink
I wish you would value yourself as we do you and live all true

Stick 168 - Swept Aside
swept aside
red and green go well together
blood and new growth fuse like brothers
regain and sweep aside the pain
constant regeneration game
drops of moonstrips and silver earrings
twinkling with nurturing power like sisters
beguile and sweep away the strain
constant oxygen in the human frame

Stick 167 - Ancient G String
Ancient G String
G string flirted so much with C string
it became a fully fledged fling
F note stepped in and anchored all in A-minor key
before the base guitar strummed a jazzy sultry circling note
B became bubbly and her rythms beguiled dominant D key
just after the laughing eyes replaced the wide open smiles
and E note tidied the friendship invite forEver
from the very past to the very always future
Stick 166 - My Beautiful Older Body
My Beautiful Older Body
Mirror Passage
Blind Date with the me-her
Really stopping, really staring
Bark shadows next to wringle sunbeams
testimony to dusk-dawns lived and lingered
Really stopping, really stilling
Hands trace the familiar lines of the me-her face
years gone by flash through blue eye finger strips
Really stopping, really surrendering
Loving arms hang by my side and I smile at me-her
a certain knowing, a certain long shadow solitude
Really stopping, really simply loving

Stick 165 - Kangeroo Sunsets
Kangeroo Sunsets
Kangeroo Sunsets
stretch shadows accross the road
as beautiful gracious bouncing
lead to your big announcement
Kangeroo Sunsets
miracle greens turn to gold
as I hear your voice swirl the words
our Sky God brings a fire to earth
Kangeroo Sunsets
maybes, possibles, probables and forevers
as your warm hands cup my face
while wildlife nestle into night-time nurture space

Stick 164 - Chinese Whispers
Whispering twists....
Chinese Whispers in my ear
guessing games surround what we hear
secrets disclosed in the breathless air
circles of intrigue as we openly share
Shadow Whispers in my hair
certainty in togetherness and touch always there
sundance love curls frame contented faces
fingers entwine as we blanket our love with sunset places
Darkness Whispers in my broken heart
empty shadows lost in translation
twists and turns in my misunderstanding
backs turned and love whispers no more never again for me to store

Stick 163 - Intrinsically Inherent
intrinsically inherent
the inner being of all of us
so different from the illusion of the outside us
the inherent being in the inner soul
the identical twin magical bond
the inner child in all of us
so ready to laugh and love and accept without any fuss
the intrinsic core of each human being
so fantastically inviting and beautifully unique
Stick 162 - Love at first Light
Love at first light ...
It was early night
close to the first light
It happened in slow motion
and without any commotion
It sent my heart aflutter and pounding
the message clear and overwhelmingly resounding
It left me breathless and in absolute awe
at the magic and what mystery it may hold in store
It was so definitely meant to be
that I totally loved you and you had always been waiting for me
Stick 161 - Leather Arches
Leather Life...
Longevity in the creases
Bridges accross lifelines

Stick 159 - Batik Fineprint
Batik in the Fineprint
the fineprint
on the back
at the bottom
between the lines
thorns intermingle
with batik gold
painful blessing
now in a cloth sold
the beauty of blood
in the wheatfield wind
living in full colour
with sad-happiness interlinked
all above taught me
to live in detail
to long between the lines
to lose and leave the loss at the bottom and be kind

Stick 158 - Green Stone
...the love of a green stone
we discovered the green stones
at the edge of the woods
in the cave where the ancestors
played with them to suit their moods
our lives followed a destiny
with a path leading here
to where the discovery of the precious stones
became the ultimate truth in this special moment honed
we carried each raw stone with care and concern
we placed them in a basket weaved with strips of welcome bamboo
then we tended each stone with a tender passion
and covered them with a blanket called always-protection
the circles and hooks and twists and turns of each exquisite design
carries with it a message of the deepest friendship respect
which our ancestors smile upon as these stones travel
with honored receivers accross our intricate planet
...and green stone protect us forever and afar

Stick 157 - Silver Blood Bath
Silver Blood Bath
I bled real blood
in that silver sink bath
nobody thought my life would last
I bled real blood
while sour green apple juice drops
formed a flood of angst and sour regret
I bled real blood
while ancient sand storms yelled and sped
through human autrocity sand dunes the size of mountains of led
I bled real blood
dark, deep, dense and dangerous in its intent
which as always suddenly dissolved during the latter part
of my late night evening in that sinister human bath

Stick 156 - Perception Reality
Perception Reality
Objectivity illusion
more commonly known as Perception adaption
leads to opinions and views
supposedly uninfluenced by human emotions
How can a word so seemingly sound
create so much confusion
discord and
human battleground
Perception reality
more commonly known as Biased statements
lead to clarity of view and opinion
born from a holistic emotional human with a clear reference point
How much we struggle
as we grapple
to grasp and accept decisions in our world made Objectively
rather than decisions made using
fabulously flawed but honest and clear biased Perception

Stick 154 - Green Waves
Green Wave Magic
The littleness of small things
bring the joy of real meaning
The green wave of grass gems
promise hidden humble haven nests
The undiscovered side alleys

The sharing and voicing of life secrets
hold the necklace to rejoice in relief
The life in the new growth
trumps with you when you are true
