Stick 190 - Slide Over

Slide Over

Beside the cloud
Underneath the river
On the bottom cobblestones
I see your toes wriggle
and it makes me want to slide over

Behind the window
In front of the red roof
On the side of the porchlight
I see the outline of your cheekbone
and it makes me want to slide over

Below the heart rate
Above the anticipation fate
On the horizon of the new dawn day
I watch you wake and smile without delay
and it makes me want to slide over and forever be your stay

Stick 189 - Sundial Pearls

Pearls in my Sundial Necklace...

Hunger was what drove us on
the clock was ticking
the sun sinking

Craving was what took us by storm
the clock was chiming
the sun's relentless timing

Longing was what entwined our souls
the clock was rhyming
the sun was blindingly shining

Burning was what enflamed the crowd
the clock was ever moving
the sun was never assuming

Yearning was what you left behind
the clock now pearls of wisdom
the sun now whole and wistfully soulsome

Stick 188 - Silk Shadows

Silk Shadows....

As I walk down the misty pier this night
Lights flicker on fishermen's solitude
down below on those wise old rocks
the waves lift their silky frocks and splash their foam in mock

As the wind picks up so seagulls huddle down
The pier enjoying the shower from nature very own healing power
down in the dark of the water below
fish glance up and smile at the silky half moon night

As I hang my legs over the pier edge
I recall the way our lips tasted the silky now
I recall you whisper the secrets of ancient love of me your all
and I clearly saw the silk of life greet the life of silk forever more

As the wind whips through the midnight air
your voice is never ever nowhere anywhere
I wrap silk scraves around my head
and drown in silk memories from past piers and hope for better years ahead

Stick 187 - Inside Pockets

inside pockets....

inside pockets are where secrets hide
unzip, unhook and look behind

us humans need the inner pockets
where we store the hidden, hopeful and honest

we invite the forbidden into our hearts
as we live on an island where we play a veiled part

us humans carry layers of untold love
which we should, out of the inner pockets, unfold

inside pockets are where certain knowing should abide
by the rules of the game of putting the past aside

Stick 186 - Feather Stick Moments

Feather Stick Moments

i love the feathery morning air
just after a soapy shower
just before the orange day dawn

i love the feathery mist on the lake
just after the kayak rowing
just before the day's long shadow slowing

i love the feathery pebbles on the beach
just after the seagull's proprietary cry
just before my toes kiss the foamy wave goodbye

i love the feathery wispy look in your eyes
just after your arm circles my waist
just before you lead me astray

i love the feathery future up high
just after i turn my eyes to the sky
just before i notice a beautiful inquisitive butterfly

Stick 185 - Story my teacup

story my teacup...

string the words
that stir my mind
brew the story
that make me believe in human kind

add the sugar
of the story's happy end
so I envelop with steam
the real story in my memory book land

sip it slowly
as it may still be hot
but don't be too careful
and ensure you taste the vivid secrets in the pot

dip the cookies
baked with buttery yellow love
let the tea spill over
for life is full of sticks in a cup

Stick 184 - Speckled Eggs

Speckled Eggs...

my basket on my arm
morning dew, blessings brew
make my way up the first born path
to the forest where my children and I last said goodbye

my heart in my basket
morning light, strength to my sadness fight
meaning in the birdsong greeting
as forest memories halo my children's heads

my soul in my basket
morning burbling in the creek up ahead
marooned inside my inner nest
the speckled eggs I used to collect

my life in my basket
morning love soft and sound
mother wisdom mother love
the birds i hatched my earth's bequest
