Stick 214 - Blue Bell Jazz Club

Blue Bell Jazz Club

2am
after midnight
no sleep
so explore till the break of dawn

3am
find the Blue Bell Jazz Club
no sleep
so here I am, where heels and earrings mellow the night edge out

4am
she appears on stage, the red lip magnificent main act
no sleep
her dark african skin shining with a life full of otherday fight

5am
the piano plans to move in with the saxophone
while the clarinet writes an ode to the undervalued and the nearly old
no sleep
so I am flute and my sound wails in memory of the one that gave me away

6am
after dawn
and in my traversing and exploring,
no sleep
so I discover the antidote called new you
and I instantly know there will be no more dark blue....

Stick 213 - See the Feeling Taste

Dedicated to my very special sister-in-law
who lives brave and proud faced with the adversity
of being a totally deaf woman

See the Feeling Taste

Did you hear the river rushing
over the boulders and manly stones
as yesterdays' rain thundered over the rapids down below
or did you magically feel the misty water spray on your skin
and drink in the shapes of waterwaves

Did you hear the cow bells
as the herd passed happily
through the village this morning
or did you see cow heads bobbing and golden bells shine
like jewels in the early morning light crown

Did you hear your children laughing
as you tickled their tummys
and chased them in your beautiful garden
or did you see their twinkling eyes
and marvel at their vulnerable head-trown-back-neck lines

Did you hear the beautiful music
as you sat back totally relaxed
and closed your eyes, at the end of your day
or did you dream of colours and hugs and kisses
in a day of tastes, feelings, sights and never ever sounds

Let's lift our wine glasses
and salute your life so pure and full of discovery delight
Let's drink to your passion, your laugh and every present determined fight
and let's never ever forget how hard you try
as you leave us breathless and humbled by your joyful life height

Stick 212 - Fingers Crossed

Fingers Crossed

Fingers Crossed
that all will go well
we plead, as our fingers cross and our hopes link

Fingers Crossed
that our efforts wil be rewarded
we plead, as our future dreams translate to actions of the real

Fingers Crossed
that our children will live full lives
we plead, as we age and our influence as parents diminish and fray

Fingers Crossed
that our friends will live longer
we plead, as we appreciate the joy as friendships feed the lone hunger

Fingers Crossed
that our world will find peace
we plead, as we hope for calm and we give love to please

Stick 211 - I am Collection

I collect therefore I am...

I collect
to express
and reconnect

I bring together
to form circles
that build and fix

I fossick with fervour
and search with excitement
as missing pieces to home return

I love the colours
of the sounds of the stories
that my collections share, as my love for them I declare

I collect
therefore
I am

Stick 210 - Seven Years in Africa

Seven Years in Africa

Year one
became the birth
of the prodical son

Year two
became known for the rains
that filled the Limpopo with brown earth stains

Year three
became the key to the revolution
of the people who craved to be slavery free

Year four
became the icon for the grain in the store
so the multitudes of children could eat to have strength restored

Year five
became the drive to survive for those with illnesses like Aids
and the stage was set for the UN helpers to arrive

Year six
became known for blessings in a mismatch mix
as the strongest survive and rejoice in feeling so very much alive

Year seven
became the sign of the exciting moment in million years of time
as the wise and the old knew that Africa will never ever grow cold

Stick 209 - Raindrop Cave

Raindrop Cave

Raindrops hurtled down to earth
and in that miniscule moment in time
I stuck my tongue out
to catch one life drop so devine

Raindrops crashed into the earth dust
and formed patterns of wild abandonement and sinful lust
unapologetic as if a must
while I raised my arms in waterfalls from heavens above

Raindrops drove me to the beckoning cave
and in there I found what others before had saved
millions of diamond memories deposited in faith
on raindrop thunder lightining display days

Stick 208 - Prost

Prost and may we live long

Prost
as one
we laughed as if in song
and we all believed we would live forever long

Prost
a group together
we all felt we belonged
and we all believed the end was never to come along

Prost
as we hold hands and sing our joyful songs
we celebrated the common fate
and we all believed the end was forever not near

...and should it out of nowhere appear
it is then we need our prost friends to be there

Stick 207 - Wash day Display

Wash day Display

the washing line
hung halfmoon smile
in the open air
and in that posed suggestions
of interesting affairs

the washing machine
injected the cleaning streams
and with it swirled
the happenings of the humans
and their daily worlds

the washing basket
seemingly clean and pristine
brought to bear the
wet equalised clothes to dry
and therefore prepare for new human journeys to come

the washing line
full of wishes needing to be defined
acted with grace in the open space
as it aired with flair and open statements everywhere
the colourful display of the lives about which we all care

Stick 206 - Mess with Me

Mess with Me

The mess in me
invites the mess in you
to totally mix a mess
of wild wilderness stick debris

The mayhem in me
connects with the mayhem in you
to unreservedly unburden
the shambles of our past minds eye

The turmoil in me
craves the turmoil in you
to soothe and soften
the confusion of disruption

The wreckage in me
crashes into the wreckage in you
and so we both reach out
to the saviour of maybe and the saviour of now

Stick 205 - Step by Step

Step by Step

Bodatious beauty abound
when flower sticks
float by on a blue summer heaven sky

Crimson sails
mimic stick laughter
while ocean waves tease summer sun-smile haze

Wild flowers
sticks bunched together
in lovers hands to celebrate summers forever

Shadow blossoms
echo stick aroma
of what could be and what should set us free

Stick 204 - Pass me the Soap

Pass me the Soap

my hands need to be washed
they need to be soaped
they need to be rinsed
and dried with new hope

the water, I believe,
should be luke warm and soft
to wash away the bitter cold
to contain the scalding bush fires of old

the soap, I believe
should be colourful and light blue like healing glue
to bless me with forgiveness
to wash away my many sins

Stick 203 - Old Man Hand

Old man hold my hand...

I found you by the sea
I found you staring out to where nobody could be
I found you safe and sound
I saw the wrinkles on your weathered hand
as you held onto the wooden railing
in the bush above the sand land

I wondered how you were
I wondered what you remembered most
I wondered who was waiting at home
I saw a tear begin to form
as it lay in wait in the pond of your eye
and connected with the life in nature's eternal bush

I realised you knew I was there
I realised you really didn't mind
I realised you shared with me your now time
I saw the tear smear into the here
as it became the part of your being old
as it became the part of me being here with you sharing a story untold

Stick 202 - Vanilla Candle

Vanilla Candle

High in the highest Loft
in the wooden house
in the hold-me-tight forest

Hidden in the shed at the back
shining bright in discovery delight
in the fold-me-in forest

Hunkering down in the kitchen cupboard
above the warm soapy water basin
in the soothe-my-soul forest

Healingly glowing vanilla candle
dappling the inside rooms
in possible signs of forgiveness times

Stick 201 - Red Frogs

REd FROgs GaLORe

Imagine that every time
we feel that wholesome fulfilment feeling
in a life worth living
that a tiny little red frog hopped by

Imagine that every time
we meet a new giving and sharing friend
in a life of possible people coming and going
that a tiny little red frog smiled

Imagine that every time
we stop to drink in the sky and stir a cup of rain sugar drops
in a life where thunderstorms dance with lightning bolts
that a little red frog jumped for joy

Imagine that every time
we truly just be carefree
in a life filled with busyness and bumble bees
that a litte red frog salutes and enjoyes just being free

Stick 200 - Dedication Untitled

Dedication Untitled

These sticks
beckoning
in their positive desire
to be found
to be part
of the reasons of rhyme

These sticks
proudly
understated humble in their commitment
to become
to be part
of human soul-state rhymes

These sticks
gifted in magic literary abandonement
artistic and ready
to shape
to soothe pain amongst
dedications yet untitled yet destined by design

Stick 199 - Sticks and Stones

Sticks and Stones...

Sticks and Stones may build my bones
as I venture into natures own
no hunger, hurt or hatred can co-exist
where I lean on sticks
where I step on stones

Many years may pass in my short life
as I venture on and off natures path
no angst, anger or apprehension can co-exist
when I lean on sticks
when I step on stones

Many nights of dreaming may float past
as in moments of truth I reconfigure my soul's nature clearing
no dispair, depression or dark nature caves can co-exist
while I invite others to share sticks
while I invite others to share as we pick up stones

Stick 198 - Evening Star

Evening Star

as you start the night
so blazingly beautifully bright
your ultimate aim
to reach human strain
venus is your given name

as you curiously peer around
so bubbly and boisterous in your flirtatious delight
your understanding
beyond the human realm
venus so clear in your female frame

as you wait for me tonight
so welcoming, warm and wonderfully wild
your certain knowing
beyond human years
venus my inspiration and antidote for all fears

Stick 197 - Velvet Space

Velvet Space

Regal the palace place
where red blood turns tattoo ink to blue
where the abacus of speech
most definitely run true
for lies become treason
and traitors must surely die

Regal the cloak cover
where arteries of hunger hope
become cloaked in humble pretend and make belief
for lies become treason
and traitors must surely die

Regal the purple promise
where money floats in the well of wishes
where future become the thought dreams of today
where lies are mere short term in currency
and traitors receive forgiveness without question or delay

Stick 196 - Simplicity

simplicity
as solid as sunrise and sunset
as sure as smiling and laughing
as strong as willow and stone
as sad as the beginning of the end
as still as one only and alone
as silent as knowing and accepting

Stick 195 - Behind closed curtains

behind closed curtains...
...that's where she took off her burka
...that's where she let down her hair
...that's where she stared at naked mirror time
...that's where there was no thin line

behind closed curtains...
...that's where he waited all night
...that's where his fight became pale fright
...that's where he finally lost his mind
...that's where there was no thin line

behind closed curtains...
...that's where they loaded their guns
...that's where curtains tore as helicopter blades spun
...that's where bombs ripped last curtains apart
...that's where there was no thin line

behind ripped curtains...
...that's where bodies lie in state
...that's where families stare at an unfair fate
...that's where human regrets come too late
...that's where there is no thin line and only war lost time

Stick 193 - Bathtime Invite

come bath with me...

the water will swirl
as hands make water unfurl
the bubbles will scent the air
as bodies envelop and float with flair

the steam will whisper misty promises of hope
as hair ringlets flirt with lips that dare
the sweat sculpting bodies in a hazy hue
as anticipation colours the palet of promise and playful servitude

the drops drip with delight and decadence in sight
as human shapes entwine in absolute abandonment
the water drops merge with streams of rivers of oceans
as the bathtime invite delivers the highest of life's loving potions

Stick 192 - Desert Parsley

Desert Parsley

we all gathered on the sand dune
that starry open night
we all laughed together
that still open night

the fire was dancing and flickering without bickering
that inviting open night
the talk was stimulating and at times prickly
that inspiring open night

we noticed the chiseled faces of friends
that pleasurable open night
we noticed the eye contact smiles
that exciting open night

the blankets multicoloured cover
that promising open night
the friendships solid and strong
that made that open night unprecedented in supportive delight

Stick 191 - Simple Maths

Simple Maths

You found Me
and said I was your One

Your happiness infected Me
and two laughs became strong

You arranged three surprises
and elusive became beautifully conclusive

You danced Me from here to tomorrow
as we touched all four walls of each other's heart corner

You woke me up at the dawn of five
and we became aroused and always so very lusciously alive

My memories are all I have of six, seven and eight
because the us ruptured before nine became ten out of ten

Stick 190 - Slide Over

Slide Over

Beside the cloud
Underneath the river
On the bottom cobblestones
I see your toes wriggle
and it makes me want to slide over

Behind the window
In front of the red roof
On the side of the porchlight
I see the outline of your cheekbone
and it makes me want to slide over

Below the heart rate
Above the anticipation fate
On the horizon of the new dawn day
I watch you wake and smile without delay
and it makes me want to slide over and forever be your stay

Stick 189 - Sundial Pearls

Pearls in my Sundial Necklace...

Hunger was what drove us on
the clock was ticking
the sun sinking

Craving was what took us by storm
the clock was chiming
the sun's relentless timing

Longing was what entwined our souls
the clock was rhyming
the sun was blindingly shining

Burning was what enflamed the crowd
the clock was ever moving
the sun was never assuming

Yearning was what you left behind
the clock now pearls of wisdom
the sun now whole and wistfully soulsome

Stick 188 - Silk Shadows

Silk Shadows....

As I walk down the misty pier this night
Lights flicker on fishermen's solitude
down below on those wise old rocks
the waves lift their silky frocks and splash their foam in mock

As the wind picks up so seagulls huddle down
The pier enjoying the shower from nature very own healing power
down in the dark of the water below
fish glance up and smile at the silky half moon night

As I hang my legs over the pier edge
I recall the way our lips tasted the silky now
I recall you whisper the secrets of ancient love of me your all
and I clearly saw the silk of life greet the life of silk forever more

As the wind whips through the midnight air
your voice is never ever nowhere anywhere
I wrap silk scraves around my head
and drown in silk memories from past piers and hope for better years ahead

Stick 187 - Inside Pockets

inside pockets....

inside pockets are where secrets hide
unzip, unhook and look behind

us humans need the inner pockets
where we store the hidden, hopeful and honest

we invite the forbidden into our hearts
as we live on an island where we play a veiled part

us humans carry layers of untold love
which we should, out of the inner pockets, unfold

inside pockets are where certain knowing should abide
by the rules of the game of putting the past aside

Stick 186 - Feather Stick Moments

Feather Stick Moments

i love the feathery morning air
just after a soapy shower
just before the orange day dawn

i love the feathery mist on the lake
just after the kayak rowing
just before the day's long shadow slowing

i love the feathery pebbles on the beach
just after the seagull's proprietary cry
just before my toes kiss the foamy wave goodbye

i love the feathery wispy look in your eyes
just after your arm circles my waist
just before you lead me astray

i love the feathery future up high
just after i turn my eyes to the sky
just before i notice a beautiful inquisitive butterfly

Stick 185 - Story my teacup

story my teacup...

string the words
that stir my mind
brew the story
that make me believe in human kind

add the sugar
of the story's happy end
so I envelop with steam
the real story in my memory book land

sip it slowly
as it may still be hot
but don't be too careful
and ensure you taste the vivid secrets in the pot

dip the cookies
baked with buttery yellow love
let the tea spill over
for life is full of sticks in a cup

Stick 184 - Speckled Eggs

Speckled Eggs...

my basket on my arm
morning dew, blessings brew
make my way up the first born path
to the forest where my children and I last said goodbye

my heart in my basket
morning light, strength to my sadness fight
meaning in the birdsong greeting
as forest memories halo my children's heads

my soul in my basket
morning burbling in the creek up ahead
marooned inside my inner nest
the speckled eggs I used to collect

my life in my basket
morning love soft and sound
mother wisdom mother love
the birds i hatched my earth's bequest
