Praying Mantis in the Sky

As I kneel down to pray
As I bend my head
As I hold my hands up high
As I humbled look up towards the sky

I thank God
for the beauty of the ocean
as it ripples in moods and scares and dares
and feed our souls with the thoughts of the special and good

I thank God
for the rivers that gush along
as it excitedly rushes blood through my human veigns
and entices me to surge forward over boulders regardless of pain

I thank God
for the water puddles after rain
as it glass mirrors the delight and new insight
and dainty in its simple form, encourages me to want to excell and perform
