Stick 98 - True Grain Wood

The True Grain Wood

the true grain wood, unassumingly
went into the body of the brand new guitar
went into the belly of the ocre brown cello
went into the slender neck of the young female violin

the true grain wood, unaccompanied
picked away at a silly little tune
picked away at a monsoon melody under the yellow moon
picked away as the organ scooped solemness in a spoon

the true grain wood, unaffraid
stepped forward in the handle of a gun
stepped up as the judge slammed the hammer down
stepped sideways in the pillars of the dark innard mine

the true grain wood, unapologetic
supported the dole, supported the female role
supported the gay marraige rights,
supported animal rights, and no fights
supported the minorities and their plights

the true grain wood, unashamed
lived a life of searching for wisdom unending
lived a life of giving without ever thinking of receiving
lived a life of falling in love with love and forever believing

Stick 97 - To my elephant princess

My stick tonight is dedicated to my beautiful middle child

In the middle of the forest, the lush plush forest
I saw what I will now describe
It was a clearing in a dappled sun meadow, with peace lillies everywhere

I saw my daughter, my beatiful middle daughter
She sat on the moist brown earthy ground
and what I saw there was unbelievably rare
amazingly true, for around her sat a baby elephant crew

I saw my daughter, my beatiful middle daughter
she sat with her legs around an african pot
she reached for the exquisite life-spice and she certainly stirred that pot
while baby elephant trunks touched her with love, care and no reserve

I saw my daughter, my beautiful middle daughter
as she cuddled the grandma elephant with a silk chiffon throw
She lifted the maternal elephant's foot and I thought I saw her pray
while she painted ancient tattoos on the elephant's travelling grey foot

I dont know what was said, but I know what I saw next
I saw my daughter, my beautiful middle daughter as she solemnly bent forward
she stuck out her tonge and licked the salty tear
that ran down from the elephant's eye

The tear's magic rose up above and wrote in the blue blue sky...

Welcome elephant princess
to the place where forest and life
will never deny
the earthy truth of a life lived with so much heart and so much true blue

Stick 95 - Straight Curl

Curls that unfurl...

I stand tall
My back real straight
I look up ahead
I look far towards where life and sky once met
I see what was and feel what may come

The message within the stick causes me to run and stall no more
I run to the ocean
I run through the waves
I splash in the roundness that defies the straightness of space

I swim to the seacave
where I drink from the black rock
I crunch through the bubbles in my messy wave-cave
and the arms of my body
hug the shivering being now hosted in the cave of the me-within

Stick 94 - Seperate Together

The Law of Seperate Together

Friends usually decide to engage
Friends usually display enthusiasm and invest the same
Both parties will embrace the rules of the game
Both parties may realise what there is to lose and what there is to gain

With backs to each other ensure to live seperate but in spirit together
With eyes wide open, ensure to watch the recording of what supports another
With hearts wide open, ensure to listen with care and concern
With grace and respect hope never to discover waste and neglect

For if that is so, the game will be over
The players will move on
The players will move out of the space
They will move out of the city, the state and that former friendship place

The law is clear, the law is for real,
friends seperate should find minds together
but when neglect leads to waste
seperate with together will be never ever,
seperate will have nothing left to feed the friendship called together

Stick 93 - That First Kiss

That moment....

The sun was down
The moon was round
You tease me all night
I tingle with delight

The music twirl and echoes my love curl
The summer night lingers around the porch light pearl
Your hands catch a fire fly
I prize your fingers open to send her free and high

The river brushes the canyon side
The reeds whisper the secret I still wish to hide
You touch my skin, you lift my chin
I taste the salt of the man and the him that awaits within
