Ode to Danger
Ignoring Mortality
is wildly provocative
Begging to invite Danger
is intoxicatingly addictive
Facing the Menacing
is empoweringly stimulating
Ignoring the Ferocious
is thrillingly untamed
Taunting the Perilous
is exhiliratingly wicked
Tasting the Wild
Laces lush pain with much to gain

Stick 104 - Veld Shower
Drip, Drip
We fashioned the shower
in the middle of the veld camp
we placed it to the side of the clearing where
we could hide behind the leaves
as the water splattered make belief
we'd walked so far through the African bush that day
we explored the middle of nowhere
we discovered the crevices and path crickles sprinkled anywhere
under the no-, part- and full sun covering the everywhere
while sometimes forest shadows soothed our somewhere fears
we talked so much as we dove-tailed with silence
we understood with love, the sharing of footstep wonder
we laughed at all the silly things
that bubbled to the i-need-to-share-stumbling
as we rested our bodies against male boulder nature chairs in the inbetween
our companionship created the invisible net called shared esteem
The water dripped over my naked tired body that night
I stared up at the source of the glistening diamond drop
as it drip-escaped from the enclosure above called normal
I rejoiced in the washing ceremony called informal-always-not-normal
as I finished and draped the towel around me
I walked with love back to join my step-by-step-cleanse-me friend

Stick 103 - Divine Hips
Divine Hips in the after...
The Female Hips
were formed in a moment when wine
translated a design
into a statement of pure feminine divinity
... the design traces the round and the murmuring sound
The Female Hips
emulate beautifully sculptured lips
and the red of the lips, flirt with the sway of the hips
as the female moves about and through her otherwise normal day
... the design traces the will to commit to a moment of no delay
The Female Hips
embrace and invite open warmth of acceptance space
she conveys in simple intricacy, the rules of the erotic game
while beckoning in softness the staking of the male claim
...the design traces the giving female hips as she holds dear the special after

Stick 102 - Kiwi Orchard
Kiwi Orchard
The mountain mist
rolled down the hill and cover
the valley below
in the Maori cloak of hope
The kiwi orchard drooped with new fruit
as the sweet-sour fresh green juice
dripped magic message patterns
onto the coiling pitch black volcano soil
The Maori elders led the way
to the wharenui behind the majestic Puhutukawa tree
where you once met me,
where you once said you cared for me
The Mokus and Tattoos shaped
the past to remember, onto the muscled arms of the future
as we shared stories of years gone past
and shared lessons learned from ancestors hearts
Maori people far and wide
I salute your mana, your history and your fight
My kiwi river, mountain and waka, now run through my veins
as my love and respect for you ever remain

Stick 101 - Flutterbug Brother
To my Beautiful Flutterbug Brother
(a flutterbug is an exotic cross between a butterfly and a firefly)
Hey Jakes, do you remember
how we squealed and we laughed
as we slip-slided in the water sogged rugby field
after the thunder and the rain created a magical yield of fun
Hey Jakes, do you recall
how we climbed the front yard twin trees
how you showed me to tie knots to anchor our 'ships'
just before you fell down and broke your arm
Hey Jakes, do you recall
how we ran across the paddocks on the farm
how we teased the bulls and yelled like real fools
as we dared each other to cross the sinking sand pools
Hey Jakes, do you recall
how you taught me to whisper to your injured horse
how you taught me to become still and let go of remorse
just as the sun set on our past lives that created in us both
the need to always be free and set our own course

Stick 100 - The Knowing
The knowing...
Those included
Those who just knew
Those who held still
Those who had the will
They saw the green leaves
They did not pick them
They decided to wait
They knew the wait would influence fate
Then those and they, all came to stay
Then those and they, rejoiced in the delay
Then those and they, understood the wisdom
Then those and they, knew the knowing led to the growing
Those included
Those who just knew
Those who held still
Those who had the will
They saw the green leaves
They did not pick them
They decided to wait
They knew the wait would influence fate
Then those and they, all came to stay
Then those and they, rejoiced in the delay
Then those and they, understood the wisdom
Then those and they, knew the knowing led to the growing

Stick 99 - Precious Laughter
Precious Laughter
The twinkle in your eye
lead to an anticipated high
as you reach the punchline of your story
I feel the bubbling start of a smile ready to play a part
The sound of your laughter
lead to a combined joyous abandonment
as your eyes meet mine in a shared
moment of merry-go-round chase after
We stop and hold the shared stare
as we still in the pleasant after
we wipe our tears
while the giggles reappear
So much to appreciate
So much joy in the humour shared
So much to give
So much joy received
