Stick 226 - SOLD!

Going Going Gone....

Let's postulate for second of a minute
as we reflect on a time spanning a life
Does a life have a price?
and if it does,
does the price necessarily mean that the life is compromised

When you fight for a cause
and your life does not run a normal course
the price you pay would be a life dedicated to others
the outcome of your work creates value for others
and you may not realise the value of the price you paid

When you give up your freedom
and you live according to the will of others or another
the price you pay will be a life unrelentingly wished away
your mind will forever deliver desires of what could or may have been
and you will end your days in an unfulfilled haze, a price unbelievably high

When you live in poverty
the price you pay is the slave labour you have to give day after day
you pay with your sweat and your frustrated tears
you rise early and you work late
and most likely you never achieve for yourself the value you create

Going Going Gone
is what the auctioneer declares
at the end of the life affair
I wish you well and I wish you would for a minute dwell
on your own price and the value of the chosen life dice
